Manchester City are ready to fight Chelse in the pursuit to sign Real Madrid right back, Danilo.
Pep Guardiola’s side are under a reconstruction phase and are set to continue making reinforcements this summer after letting several defenders walk away from the club at the close of last season.
Pablo Zabaleta, Gael Clichy and Bacary Sagna all departed the Etihad earlier in the summer.
On the contrary the only addition to the defensive sphere has been Kyle Walker. Dani Alves has already ditched them for that right back spot and the next man that Pep is targeting is Real Madrid outcast, Danilo.
Daily Star reports that City are set to rival Chelsea for the signature of 26 year old Danilo. The Brazil full-back was behind Dani Carvajal in the Real Madrid pecking order last season.
The report adds that Chelsea and Juventus were leading the way for his signature, with the Blues looking for an alternative to Victor Moses on the right-flank and now with three teams interested, Danilo’s price-tag could sky rocket.
Chelsea and Manchester City both are the major contenders for the Premier League title next season and it is no surprise to anyone that given the money they have, they both are looking to strengthen their team even more.
Signing a player that your direct rivals desperately need would not only benefit their own side but also hamper their opponents’s chances next season.
