Liverpool difficulties in the left-back position were largely witnessed last season and the club looks to make amends this summer. Klopp used James Milner as the first choice left back last season, and he did well, but not enough.

Liverpool need an actual left back in that position and Mirror has claimed that Liverpool are interested in Aston Villa’s Jordan Amavi.

The 23 year old had already agreed terms with Sevilla over a £8 million deal, but the left back failed in the medical that underwent on Friday. Sevilla cancelled the deal immediately and Amavi returned to Villa and also played the whole 90 minutes in a friendly against Telford.

The Frenchman had ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament back in November 2015 and clubs were cautious to approach him, just in case the injury reverts back. Sevilla had preferred a loan over a permanent switch, but Villa had denied the offer and said that they will allow only a permanent deal.

Sevilla agreed to it but the deal didn’t go very well as stated above. Villa is blaming Sevilla for the breakdown of the deal.

Liverpool are interested in Amavi in a similar fashion to Sevilla. They want the 23 year old on a loan so that they can analyze his ligament for a year, and then if required will permanently sign him in the next summer.

Liverpool are also linked with Hull City’s Andrew Robertson for a £8 million move, as Hull City were relegated to the Championships and the Scot is looking for an opportunity to continue playing in the top tier football.

Aston Villa would be playing in the Championships next season and would aim to finish in the top 6. Once a legendary club, it has not seen such bad days since a long time. They earlier signed the Chelsea legend John Terry.

Liverpool are aiming for a title assault next season, both in Premier League and Champions League.
