It looks like we are not done with the De Gea – Madrid saga for this summer. According to reports, The La Liga champions are set to reignite their interest in the goalkeeper as they look to test Manchester United with a £60 million bid in the coming weeks.
David De Gea is one of the top goalkeepers in the world at the moment. The former Atletico Madrid player has improved a lot since joining Manchester United in 2011. He has made exactly 200 league appearances for the Red Devils, holding 10+ clean sheets in each of the six seasons.
Over the years, David De Gea has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid. In the summer of 2015, he almost joined the club but Louis Van Gaal was able to keep hold of him with the help of a faulty fax machine.
The Spanish stopper was compelled to sign a new contract and extend his stay at Old Trafford.
The rumours have picked up once again this summer with Zidane looking to replace Keylor Navas. The former French International is disappointed by the performances of Navas last season and is keen to bring in De Gea to replace him.
At the start of this summer, numerous reports revealed that the Spanish giants have placed a bid for the player but over the weeks it slowly subsided. Currently, Dave is in the US as Manchester United prepare for the start of next season.
According to Telegraph, Real Madrid is set to make a bid for the player in the coming weeks. De Gea is said to be interested in making the move possible but would not be forcing his way out this summer.
His agents are looking to complete the move way before the deadline day as they want to avoid the repeat of two summers back.
United are in commanding position and are set to ask for a transfer fee in excess of £60 million. Mourinho knows David De Gea is a key player in his squad and will be doing everything to keep hold of him this summer.
