Having already bossed the transfer window so far, Pedro Caixinha seems reluctant on acquiring the services of Hearts midfielder, Jamie Walker.
A report by Daily Record has claimed that the Gers would be making a third attempt to land the Scottish International having already failed earlier in the transfer window.
Jamie Walker was in the spotlight even though the Hearts suffered a 1-2 defeat against Newcastle United in a pre-season friendly.
The Scot scored a goal and also won his side a penalty turning Newcaslte defender, Massadio Haidar inside out. However, the spot-kick was blasted over by Isma Goncalves.
Reportedly, Pedro Caixinha was in attendance for the game hinting over the possibility of the transfer edging closer. Rangers have already had two bids rejected for Jamie Walker.
Hearts evaluated the player near £1 million mark and would not be willing to part ways for a penny less.
The winger only has one year left at Tynecastle with his contract running out next summer. However, over the past weeks it had also been reported that Hearts boss, Ian Cathro was confident of signing a new deal with Walker. The gaffer is quoted saying –
The situation with Jamie ended up being a bit too noisy for what it actually was. Some things ended up becoming a bit silly.
But Jamie has dealt with it fine and trained really well. He is focusing on how he improves himself for next season and he’s in a good place.
If he doesn’t sign on again his contract will expire and that will be that. But have we given up hope on him agreeing a new deal? Not at all.
