According to a report by the Independent, Stoke City’s Austrian forward Marko Arnautovic is set to make move to West Ham.
West Ham are confident of completing the signing the 28 year old after their first two bids got rejected by Stoke City. The third bid for forward is worth £22 million which is said to be what the Potters want.
West Ham had a very low key season after an exceptional result a season before. Quality players like Payet and Lanzini who were an important part of the West Ham starting lineup during the 2105/16 seasomn were absent.
The Hammers have been on the decline due to their absence. West Ham did sign quite a few players like Simone Zaza, Havard Nordtveit, Alvaro Arbeloa and Jonathan Calleri on loan but all of them turned out to be flops.
The fans seek an experienced charismatic forward and the Stoke City forward might just be the answer.
Arnautovic joined Stoke City from Bundesliga side Werder Bremen for a sum of £2 million in 2013. Since his move, the Austrian has scored 26 goals in over 100 appearances for the Potters.
Arnautovic has been very frustrated at the Britannia Stadium and has made it very evident that he seeks a move away. With Bojan returning from loan and the Egyptian starlet Ramadan Sobhi playing exceptionally, the funds raised from Arnautovic’s sale can be used to bring in defensive reinforcements.
Arnautovic is currently injured after falling awkwardly in the box trying to attempt a cross during a preseason game against Swiss side, Neuchatel Xamax.
