Liverpool have been part of a lot many interesting transfer sagas this summer. Currently, they are in a fix on Coutinho’s exit rumors as it is reported that the Brazilian is nearing a move to the Catalan giants, FC Barcelona.
Ernesto Valverde, Barcelona’s manager, is determined to land Coutinho as he himself is on the verge of losing the club’s marquee player, Neymar to Paris Saint Germain.
The French side triggered Neymar’s release clause of £197 million and according to reports, PSG have already started planning for a grand unveiling for the Brazilian captain.
This has put Barcelona in a position where they need to make a significant signing, and unfortunately for the Liverpool fans, it seems that that signing would be Coutinho.
However, Klopp has denied, stating that Coutinho is not for sale, but if a club like Barcelona comes calling, even the toughest of tough fall prey to it. A £72 million bid has already been rejected by Liverpool, but Barcelona are expected to revert back with an improvised offer.
The Liverpool officials have already started preparing for the worst as reports in Germany have surfaced claiming that Klopp is looking for options to replace Coutinho and one specific player that he has pointed out is Bayern Munich’s 19 year old midfielder, Renato Sanches.
The world came to know about Sanches a year ago as a wonderkid, and eventually, he was bought by Bayern Munich. But since then, his development has stunted and the ‘wonderkid’ tag attached to him has slowly lost its credit. He appeared in 25 games for Bayern but failed to get on the score-sheet.
Bayern Munich’s CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has stated, the Portuguese might be let out on a loan or even be sold. He claimed –
He is a player who needs to play regularly.
So if we feel he is not going to get enough game time, then we will loan him out, or maybe even sell him.
Last season, particularly after the winter break, he didn’t get enough appearances.
That wasn’t because of the coach, it was because of [Sanches] himself.
Sanches himself has suggested that he might be wanting a move. The Portuguese ace stated –
Of course, I’d like to play more.
That’s why I would like to change and go to a club that can give me more minutes.
I am now on the China tour with FC Bayern, but after that we will get together in Munich and hopefully one find solution.
Liverpool are facing Bayern in Audi Cup on Tuesday and it might be used as an opportunity by the Klopp to scout Sanches. The Liverpool boss also said that this will be one tough fixture and it would show whether Liverpool would be capable of challenging for silverware next season. Klopp has been quoted saying –
I’m always happy to be here in Munich. I think I won the last game here in a spectacular penalty shootout,
I’m with a different club now so it’s nothing to do with Dortmund.
The team Carlo has here is very good in every position. My affinity to Dortmund is strong but Carlo is a lovely person.
“It’s important to see what we can achieve against Bayern. They are a top team and I’ll be excited to see what kind of team they put out.
Chelsea and AC Milan are also interested in Sanches. Chelsea after losing Matic to United are on a lookout for a central midfielder. AC Milan have already had a £45 million bid rejected by Bayern for the teenager.
