Dennis Praet, the teenage wonder kid, initially from Anderlecht, Belgium is being sought by Premier League outfits, specifically Everton and Newcastle.

Liverpool Echo has claimed in a report that both Everton and Newcastle are going to compete with each other this summer, to get the signature of this 23 year old Belgian.

Praet joined Serie A club, Sampdoria last summer, after 5 glorious years at Anderlecht. The attacking midfielder spent his youth at Genk and joined Anderlecht in 2010, turning down many attractive offers.

In Anderlecht, Praet was involved in 182 games. In the process, he scored 27 times. In 2016, the Belgian made a move to Sampdoria for a price of around £9 million. Praet has scored once for the Italian club in 32 games and overall was one of the most impressive player in Italy.

Reports have claimed that even though Koeman’s side is well equipped with attacking midfielders, the Dutchman would still like to make a move for Praet.

Everton have already spent big money on Klaassen and Sigurdsson, and there are chances that Praet might not even get a chance to start for the Toffees.

Koeman primarily wants a left sided defender and a striker, before the window closes, and Praet doesn’t seem to be on Everton’s priority list currently.

Newcastle, on the other side, have been reeling under pressure after losing the first two games in the Premier League.

The Magpies returned to the top tier after an impressive season in the Championship, but already there are speculations that they have become the favorites to get relegated. Rafa Benitez hasn’t made any marquee signing so far and the fans have become frustrated.

Benitez is an admirer of Praet, and reportedly Newcastle had made a bid of £17.5 million for him. It was subsequently rejected by Sampdoria.
