According to Daily Star, Manchester United could make a move for Antoine Griezmann in the coming days. The French forward might leave Atletico Madrid this summer if the club decides to sell goalkeeper, Jan Oblak.

Griezmann to Manchester United was one of the most likely transfer to happen even before the transfer window opened. It seemed to be all set and the Frenchman was set to wear the famous no.7 jersey for the Red Devils.

But with Atletico’s transfer ban upheld, Griezmann decided to be loyal and extended his contract with the Spanish side.

Spanish media outlet, Don Balon believe that Griezmann could leave the club for Manchester United or Barcelona before the end of the transfer window. It all depends on whether Jan Oblak will stay at the club or not.

Oblak has been linked with a move to Paris Saint Germain this summer. The French giants have already broken the transfer fee record this with the signing of Neymar.

According to reports, Paris Saint-Germain is willing to match Oblak’s £90 million release clause, breaking the record for a goalkeeper. It would be a huge loss for the former La Liga champions as they won’t be able to replace him due to the transfer ban.

Griezmann has issued a warning to his club this week. Don Balon added that the player has held serious talk with coach Diego Simeone and has asked him to not sell the player at any cost this summer.

The report added that the French International might decide to quit the club if they allow Oblak to move.

Earlier this summer, Manchester United were willing to match Griezmann’s €100 million release clause. But after signing a new contract, reports suggest that Atletico Madrid has doubled his release clause value to protect the player from leaving this summer.

A move to Manchester United seems unlikely at the moment. Jose Mourinho brought in Romelu Lukaku this summer who has hit the ground running by scoring 3 goals in 2 appearances.

The Red Devils are interested in bringing in a winger before the transfer window and Griezmann doesn’t fit the profile.

Barcelona could be a possible destination. The La Liga giants are eager to bring in a replacement for Neymar before the end of this transfer window.

According to reports, new manager, Ernesto Valverde has identified Griezmann to replace the Brazilian star at Camp Nou.
