Diego Costa will be forced to stay at Chelsea until January, as a proposed move to Turkey this summer failed. Fenerbache were in talks with the Premier League champions for the player yesterday. But the talks broke down as the Turkish transfer window came to an end.

The Spanish International has been at war with the London side since the start of this summer. At the beginning of the transfer window, Antonio Conte informed the player that he was no longer a part of his plans at Chelsea. Costa went AWOL and has been trying to force a move since then.

The 28-year forward had set his eyes on a move back to Atletico Madrid. But their appeal against a transfer ban failed, forcing them to wait until January to register a player. Diego Costa is in desperate need of playing time as he wants to be on the plane to Russia next summer.

A number of clubs expressed their interest in signing the player. AC Milan were in talks with Chelsea for the striker. But the Serie A backed out as Diego Costa wanted to join only for the first half of the season.

Turkish side, Fenerbache offered Costa a chance to earn some time of the pitch. At the moment, a loan deal was ‘very close’. The talks broke down at the last moment and the side made a quick season-long loan move for Tottenham striker, Vincent Janssen.

With the dream of moving away from Chelsea bashed, Diego Costa is tipped to return to London in the coming weeks. He will have to mend the relationshp with Chelsea and discuss about his possible future at the club.

Antonio Conte might decide to give the Spaniard a chance at the club until January. The Italian boss failed to bring in a striker on deadline day. Diego Costa’s addition in the squad would help the manager with match cognestion at the moment.
