The current Premier League champions have had an uneven start to the ongoing season, to say the least. After 3 consecutive games without a victory, Antonio Conte’s men won in an unconvincing fashion against Watford.
It’s been reported all over the media that Conte is unsatisfied with the Blues summer signings and would certainly look to be a little more active in the January transfer market. Here is a list of players that the Blues would look to sign this winter window –
The 26-year-old Napoli defender is not at all close to signing a contract extension and is widely tipped for a move to the Premier League. With the thin nature of the Chelsea squad, it will be a wise decision to get a fullback.
The Algeria international is one of the best fullbacks in Serie A and is hence being targeted by quite a few European clubs. The Blues will have to be very persuasive for the 35 times capped international to sign this January.
The 24-year-old Ghana striker has been in the eyes of the Chelsea scouts in recent times. Chelsea are looking for a player good enough to play second fiddle to club-record signing Alvaro Morata. Michy Batshuayi has failed to impress the Italian and it is hence very important they replace the Belgian with an able replacement.
The27-year-oldd former PFA player of the year hasn’t grown like he would have wanted to and hence would be looking for a move to a bigger club. The player has been extensively linked with a move to Chelsea’s city rivals, Arsenal. Each window, English media have not failed to report a transfer story linking the Algerian winger to The Emirates.
Chelsea are currently reeling under the poor form of Willian and Batshuayi and would definitely want an established and experienced player like Mahrez replacing them. The attacking player would be a steep buy but it would certainly be a huge risk Chelsea would be taking.
