Reports are rife in the English media about Arsenal’s interest in PSV’s Mexican winger Hirving Lazano.
Arsenal have been on the lookout for a winger following the impending departure of talismanic attacker Alexis Sanchez.
The Chilean has entered the last year of his contract at The Emirates and will be looking to move away in the January window or at the end of the season. Arsene Wenger is on the lookout for a like for like replacement for the forward and hence has been inquiring about Hirving Lazano.
Arsenal have reportedly sent their chief scout Steve Rowley to the Netherlands to get a full report on the winger. Lazano scored 43 goals in 149 for Pachuca back in his native Mexico before securing a move to the Dutch club PSV in June.
The winger has already made 22 appearances for the Mexican national side and his attacking and pacey nature as a winger have been well lauded.
Following the signing of his six-year contract with the Dutch side, Lazano has scored six goals in six appearances. He also became the first player in the PSV shirt to score in his first three outings.
The Mexican winger was named the Eredivisie Player of the Month in August and that has led to major clubs in Europe to sit back and take notice.
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are yet to submit a formal bid for the Mexico City born player but it is said that PSV would give in on a bid in the region of £20 million.
Arsenal will have to hurry to land the 22-year-old as a lot of major clubs would be looking to acquire his services in the winter window.
