According to a recent report published by Daily Mail, Arsenal are all set to sell midfielder Mesut Ozil. Arsene Wenger suggestively believes that the player is no more interested in helping the team’s cause and it would be better to part ways as soon as possible.

The German midfielder has been locked down in contract talks with the Gunners management since the turn of the year.

The 29-year old has been asking for higher wages which the board are unwilling to match. Wenger has made multiple attempts to convince him. But it has been of no use with Mesut Ozil making up him his mind to leave the Emirates.

This season, the midfielder doesn’t seem to be putting out his best on the field. Last week, Ozil was at fault as Watford managed to snatch a 2-1 victory over the Gunners. Arsenal staff are worried about the player’s attitude and are considering to put him up for sale in January.

This week, reports emerged suggesting that the Gunners are actively looking for a buyer for Mesut Ozil. A number of clubs seemed to be interested in the German midfielder.

Leading the race are Manchester United with Jose Mourinho and Ozil having a strong relationship. The pair were together at Real Madrid, that saw the rise of the player to fame. When Mourinho left the Bernabeu, the midfielder followed him soon after.

Arsene Wenger would prefer to sell Mesut now then leave him for free next summer. However, losing him to a Premier League is not the mistake the Gunners boss wants to make once again.

Ozil has repeatedly played down talks linking him to Manchester United over the weeks. It is a likely destination considering his friendship with the manager. It will be interesting to see what happens once the transfer window opens in January.
