According to a recent report in the Daily Star, Manchester United are plotting a January move for Danny Rose. The Red Devils were interested in the defender earlier this summer but Tottenham refused to hold any talks.

The English International has established himself as one of the best full-backs in the Premier League over the past seasons. Danny Rose is a product of Leeds youth academy and made the move to Spurs in 2007.

After repeated loan spells until 2012, he became a regular member of the squad. Last season, his partnership with Kyle Walker helped Tottenham’s attack on multiple occasions.

His performances have attracted interested from a number of clubs. Chelsea and Manchester United have already made attempts to lure him out of Tottenham.

Jose Mourinho is yet to take a decision on Luke Shaw’s long-term future. The Red Devils boss has not seen enough of the former Southampton man due to his injury crisis.

Reports in the summer suggested that Jose Mourinho had already begun the process of searching for Shaw’s replacement. The Red Devils were keen on a direct swap deal in which Luke Shaw and Danny Rose would exchange clubs.

However, Daniel Levy was in no position of selling his top player and refused any offers from the Red Devils. According to Tutto Mercato Web, the 27-year old is still on Mourinho’s wishlist.

The report added that the Red Devils could try to lure him out in the upcoming winter transfer window. Chelsea are also monitoring Rose’s position at Tottenham and could come in to spoil United’s chance.

Danny Rose is yet to make an appearance for the Londoners this season. Currently, the English International is out with a knee injury that he picked up towards the end of last season. Tottenham are yet to confirm on his training return date.
