Jamie Walker was on the verge of joining Glasgow Rangers in the summer transfer window only for his club to reject the bids put in for him.
Rangers gaffer, Pedro Caixinha was desperate to land Walker and offered two chances to the Hearts to let him go but they refused.
Recent reports suggest that the Rangers might be in for the 24-year-old as they aim to take advantage of the fact that Walker is currently in the last year of his contract. On top of that, the Scottish footballer has refused to sign a new contract with the club which has left Hearts in the middle of nowhere.
Walker was in tremendous form last season scoring 12 goals in 28 appearances from the midfield for his club and this prompted the club to keep hold of him.
When Rangers came in to purchase Walker this summer, Hearts quoted a price of £1 million for their player but Caixinha was not ready to give that much for him.
Rangers’ £600,000 valuation as laughed upon by the club and since then, the Hearts rejected two bids for the player as they believed that Walker will sign a new deal with the club based on their 14-year history together.
It was no secret that Walker himself wanted out of the club this summer itself but the club did not let him go. Now with the winter transfer window coming soon enough, Hearts will have to take a hard decision between selling Walker for a reduced amount or risk letting him go on for free next summer.
Even with Caixinha’s multiple signings of the summer, the Portuguese gaffer wanted Walker so much so that he will be going in for him yet again.
