Leeds United have been struggling in the Championship after a flurry of results at the start of the season which saw them sitting tight at the top of the league for a few weeks.
However the Whites have not replicated the form they displayed at the beginning of the season and manager, Thomas Christiansen will be looking to recruit the right players in the winter transfer window to make sure that his team’s efforts at the start of the seasons do not go in vain.
We take a look at three potential signings that Christiansen could make in the January transfer window to bolster his squad. With all three of them free agents, Leeds might be able to offer them a great contract with no fees to be paid.
The 34-year-old has been fit during his exile from football since the summer and a move for the French international will help Leeds improve their defence massively. He has a lot of experience playing for the best teams in the English Premier League as well which might prompt Christiansen to go in for Sagna.
Mulumbu was released by Norwich City this summer as well and will be available during the winter. Like Sagna, Mulumbu will be a defence minded addition to the squad with the Congolese footballer’s best position being that of a defensive midfielder.
Mulumbu is known to be physical and Leeds will benefit with the kind of presence he brings onto the pitch at the same time.
34-year-old Commons was released by Celtic this summer and has been in search of a club since. But he could be back in professional football from the next year if Leeds opt to go in the market for an attacking player.
Commons plays as an attacking midfielder and his impeccable technique will compel Christiansen to consider choosing to go in favour of the midfielder.
