Alfredo Morelos has finally spoken about the big money offers that came his way during the winter transfer window from the Far East.
Media reports during that period claimed that Chinese Super League side Beijing Renhe had made a bid in the region of £11 million.
However, according to a latest statement by the Colombian striker, the club who actually made a move for him was Guangzhou Evergrande.
The Scotsman has quoted Morelos saying –
At the beginning of the year a Chinese team – Guangzhou Evergrande – made an offer for me, but Rangers rejected it.
The issue is already closed. The media here have speculated a lot after that, but everything was calm with me.
I didn’t talk to the chairman, I had a short conversation with the manager and the sports director, but it was about my performance.
All options for China are closed for now. I am focused on doing things well and continue to grow as a player and human being.
The 21-year-old has also delivered an update on his future plans with respect to football stating that he would prefer playing in the Premier League one day. Morelos also claims that he is aware of the interest being shown in him from the Premier League.
The Rangers front-man expects to improve over the coming months before finally landing himself a place in one of the Premier League sides.
I like the English Premier League very much.
Scotland’s football is very close to the Premier League, even our league has a very similar name to it.
I know clubs from all over England will be watching me and that encourages me to do well.
