Leeds United are closing in on the signing of Chelsea youngster Izzy Brown. If reports from Goal are to be believed, the 21-year-old travelled to West Yorkshire on Thursday morning to initiate further talks regarding his supposed move.
Should the move materialize, the attacking midfielder will be the third Chelsea player to head to Elland Road, following the departures of Lewis Baker and Jamal Blackman.
Brown helped Huddersfield Town gain promotion to the top flight after putting up a series of convincing performances in 2016/17.
Last season, he joined Brighton and Hove Albion on a temporary basis, but an anterior cruciate ligament injury hampered and ended his 2017/18 campaign. Prior to this, he experienced loan spells at Vitesse and Rotherham United.
He has laboured a total of 82 senior club appearances. He has also represented his national side in the U-16, U-17, U-19 and U-20 level.
Marcelo Bielsa has ignited a new ray of hope at Leeds, having won four out of five games in the Championship so far. They have also netted a stunning 14 goals in the process. While there’s a lot to smile about at the moment, the Argentine coach is looking to bolster his midfield and add depth to the squad.
Meanwhile, Brown still at Cobham, working on his fitness and recovery. At his best, he is one of the brightest forwards in English football, in terms of sharpness, change of speed and vision. He has the capability to bring the side together, gel the play and score goals.
In his short-spanned career, the starlet has already shown that he can be a handy substitute, as he brings in tons of energy along with fresh legs.
Bielsa and co. take on Middlesbrough in a top table clash on Friday night, which could be a vital clash in terms of who looks stronger to secure promotion to the Premier League.
