West Ham United ace Marko Arnautovic is expected to return to full fitness ahead of his side’s clash against table-toppers Chelsea.

The forward was substituted off in their 3-1 win over Everton in the 64th minute after having sustained a knee strain. He scored one and created another goal in the Hammers’ first victory this season.

Arnautovic is a vital cog in West Ham’s forward line. Owing to his strength, combativeness, vision and shot power, he is one of the most decorated strikers in the league. The Austrian already has three goals to his name so far this season and is spearheading the Irons’ attack with precision.

However, his injury meant that Manuel Pellegrini was handed a major blow prior to the high-voltage clash against Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea.

Now that he is expected to be fit and involved in the game, there will be a glimmer of hope stirring around the London Stadium before the hosts take on their fierce London rivals. Manager, Pellegrini has been quoted saying –

Marko finished with a problem behind his knee. We will see if he is fit for Sunday. He played well against Everton and we hope he will recover

Another club source has stated while speaking to the Evening Standard saying –

Arnie felt something behind the knee, so was brought off as a precaution

After a dismal start to the campaign, West Ham responded in magnificent fashion to upstage a well-constructed Everton outfit. They will believe they can beat a Chelsea side currently playing some delightful football.

The Hammers will also be without their play-maker Jack Wilshere, who underwent a surgery in his ankle. The injury is expected to keep him out for almost six weeks. Pellegrini will also be without the services of Javier Hernandez, who is suffering from illness.

West Ham host Chelsea on Sunday at 1:30 pm local time.
