According to a latest publication by Daily Star, the Hammers have offered the highly rated young defender, Declan Rice a deal with wages somewhere in the north of £46,000-a-week.

Declan Rice has featured in five West Ham games so far with an impressive passing rate of over 87%. He also played 26 games in the Premier League for the Hammers last season. He was very impressive in the games against Everton and Chelsea this season.

However, the young prodigy wants to wait until the end of the season to see if better offers come to the table. West Ham, though, have been extremely careful with this situation as they do not want to splurge too much on a young promising star too soon, only to regret it later.

They hope that they can strike a deal with Rice before the end of the International Break with the player facing a crisis between representing England or the Republic of Ireland.

The London club highly values this young defender but do not want to go all out for him as it may prove costly just like the young promising player in Reece Oxford who earns £20,000 per week but his career has stalled.

West Ham seeks to strike a deal that will be best for both parties as they hope to keep hold of this starlet who promises to shine in the future and the Hammers certainly need someone like that in their ranks.
