After a disappointing loss against West Ham United, Manchester United will be desperate for a win when they square off against Newcastle United later this evening. The pressure seems to be mounting on Jose Mourinho as United’s bad form continues.

The Red Devils came out with a bland goalless draw against Valencia in the Champions League on Wednesday and they are in a precarious need of a win to get their season back on track.

As the string of negative results continues, Jose Mourinho has been under immense scrutiny and anything less than a victory against the Magpies would definitely escalate the situation further.

Rafa Benitez’s side has just managed to pull out two points from their opening seven games and will be hoping to put further pressure on United.

In defence, Victor Lindelof is expected to partner Chris Smalling with Eric Bailly out of the side. Although Marcos Rojo is nearing a comeback, the weekend’s fixture would be too early for his return.

With Ashley Young still suffering from injury, Luke Shaw would be starting as a left back after his formidable performances. Dalot might get a nod as right back as Antonio Valencia’s speed was exposed by Spanish side, Valencia in the mid-week

Ander Herrera is in doubt for this fixture, so Fred and Fellaini would battling for a spot midfield which would contain the likes of Paul Pogba and Matic.

Rashford who has been United’s best player going forward last week would be looking to partner Alexis Sanchez on the wings and most certainly Lukaku would be leading the line.

Probable XI

De Gea

Valencia – Lindelof – Smalling – Shaw

Fred –  Matic –  Pogba

Sanchez –  Lukaku – Rashford
